Industrial sheds serve diverse purposes, and two primary types dominate the landscape: cold roll-formed portal frame sheds and structural fabricated steel sheds. The cold roll-formed variant, often arriving as a kit, features a portal frame structure made of rolled purlins, batton, girts, brackets, and top hat. These sheds utilize cold-formed steel channel sections, providing efficiency and ease of assembly on-site without specialized equipment. In contrast, structural fabricated steel sheds, suitable for larger industrial applications, boast welded sections like I beams, H sections, or C channels.

The assembly is swift, predrilled, and easily bolted, ensuring strength and durability. However, structural steel is heavier, necessitating heavy equipment for assembly. The sheds are popular for warehouses over 18 meters in width and their fabrication can occur in shops or on-site. The process involves surface cleaning, sawing, punching, drilling, and straightening, ensuring precise and quality construction. While cold sawing efficiently cuts sections, punching and drilling machines form holes for connections. Straightening, bending, and rolling rectify distortions in rolled steel, maintaining structural integrity. Both shed types offer distinct advantages, catering to diverse industrial needs with efficiency and strength.
